Des Crofton is a Director in PwCs Risk and Regulatory practice. Des started his career in Bank of Ireland where he spent 15 years in a variety of risk and regulatory focused roles. His time there saw him oversee divisional implementation of a broad range of regulatory initiatives including SME and consumer lending codes, conduct requirements, CBI Guidelines and GDPR, as well as overseeing compliance with the prudential regulatory framework. Since joining PwC in 2019, Des has specialised in supporting clients in the payments, lending and investment sectors to interpret new and existing regulation, and his work places a strong emphasis on the practical implementation of regulatory obligations in financial services organisations. He regularly works with leading payment firms, retail credit firms and banks to understand and meet the expectations of the Central Bank of Ireland across a diverse set of topics. Des holds a BSc in Business and Legal Studies from TU Dublin and an MSc in Investment, Treasury and Banking from Dublin City University.
